FUEL ELBOW ISSUES

There are a batch of fuel elbows on the market that is known to cause fuel leaks. The bubble flare on these fittings have a ridge preventing proper seating in the fuel tap tapered recess. To seat correctly the ridge would have to be removed.  And the taper of the fitting flare lapped to match the fuel tap internal bore. We advise discarding and fitting alternate fuel elbows without the ridge to solve any fuel leaking issues. The ones supplied by us made by LF Harris are what you want to order.

Even minor fuel leaks can be hazardous if your bike is stored inside a garage with a gas appliance.  The pilot light on a clothes dryer or water heater can ignite fuel vapor from some distance. Fuel related repairs should be done outdoors with fire extinguisher accessible nearby.
