Description
Ignition Coil 6V Lucas-Type — Converts low-voltage current from the battery to high-voltage output for spark plug ignition on twin-cylinder British motorcycles.
6V, 40mm outer diameter, aluminum body, 2.0–2.5 ohms primary resistance, Taiwan manufacture. CHECK THAT 6V ON TOP OF COIL - SOME LABELED WRONG FROM FACTORY. — OEM ref: 45275, 60-7131, 24-71516, 47275, 17M6, LU47275, 45222A, 99-0576
Fitment
| Triumph | T100 Tiger, T120 Bonneville, TR6 Trophy (Unit twins 500cc, 650cc, 750cc) | 1963–1974 |
| BSA | A50 Royal Star, A65 Lightning, A65 Thunderbolt, A65 Star, A65 Rocket, C11, C12, C15 | 1962–1972 |
| Norton | Dominator, Atlas (various twin-cylinder models) | Pre-1964 and 6V-equipped models |
Two required per motorcycle
Used on 6V points ignition systems when wired in parallel. On 12V electronic ignition systems (Boyer, Tri-Spark, Pazon, Vape), wire two 6V coils in series for improved spark energy and duration. Do NOT use on 12V points ignition without ballast resistors. Verify voltage marking on coil top before installation due to factory mislabeling. Compatible with electronic and points ignition systems.
